We have arrived for the third year in a row! The trip yesterday went great; there weren't any mishaps along the way. It took us probably around 12 hours to make it into Longview. When we first pulled in we went straight to registration. We had to be there by 7 p.m., and we made it with ten minutes to spare!
Once we were done with registration we were off to the hotel, which is our first hiccup. We showed up at the Wingate hotel, and when Brad and Jason tried to check in there were no rooms under their names. It took us about an hour to try to work out where we would be placed. We ended up just down the road at La Quinta Inn.
This was our excitement for the night, however we did stop by one of my favorite Mexican restaurants down here: Papacitas. We had a great dinner and it was off to bed.
This morning we took multiple trips around town to try and find different supplies to get ready for the week ahead. We got contact paper and wax pencils for the maps, and we also got the computers all ready to go. Then we had lunch at Whataburger, washed the vehicles, and got the baskets all ready.
Tonight we have a logger meeting that we will go to just to see if the pilots can get more insight to the secret ins and outs of the gps. Then we will have opening ceremonies. I will hopefully have plenty of pictures to post to keep everyone as informed as possible!
We appreciate all of your support! And good luck to the pilots that are flying in Indianola this week!
